"Walking close to you" is the most recent song of my "Ancient Gems" collection, written a mere 10 years ago. The original recording was produced as the most recent song (at the time) for my 25-year retrospective "They might have been hits" in 2010. 
The song was also the starting point for my virtual band project "Growing Old Disgracefully”. The hiatus of that project (which will soon be re-activated) was the reason I started my solo production "Ancient Gems".  Since I had played all the instruments on the original version – apart from the drums – I decided to use it for this CD. I changed the arrangement slightly, re-recorded the vocals and added the strings. I had also planned to replace the drums, but my efforts just showed me what an excellent drummer Katarzyna is, so I decided to keep her tracks from the original recording.
